Rooi Santo Residence

We spent three days here and rented one of the few available apartments. Ours had two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a king, plus one bathroom. There was a kitchen with a fridge and stove, a living room, TVs in all the rooms and living area, and air conditioning throughout. It was fairly clean. The beach is really close, and I had fun here. The pools are smaller than they look in the pictures. Aruba's wind keeps blowing leaves into them, so you may need to skim them yourself. I do recommend the place, but get in touch with the owner a day before you arrive for the self check-in instructions.

I stayed here for two months while working at the hospital. The place is very dated, and the washing machine wasn't working at first. I had to keep contacting them to get it fixed. Staff were hardly ever around. Guests often didn't know where to check in, so I helped some of them use the Wi-Fi to contact the property. Service was very poor for the price. My pet was allowed, but they provided no cleaning supplies or vacuum. I paid $1,000 cash for one month's rent, or $1,200 including taxes, and both amounts were excluding taxes. They also took a $500 deposit from my credit card and never returned it, saying it was because of pet fur. They hadn't mentioned that beforehand. That's a terrible way to do business. Money robbers. Never again, don't book here. You can hear everything because it isn't soundproof, and the glass is very thin. There was a lot of loud construction outside, with houses being built. You need a car to get to the beach, or it's a 20-minute walk in the hot sun. Taxis are expensive in Aruba. Better to stay somewhere more central or near the beach. Next time, I'll choose another place.

We really enjoyed our month-long stay and would rent here again when we return. The two-bedroom was just right, and Ana was very accommodating. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels, and every room had AC. The living room had a TV with lots of cable channels, a loveseat, and a table and chairs. The kitchen had a large fridge, induction cooktop, pots, pans, cutlery, and utensils. On hot sunny days when we didn't head to the beach, we loved cooling off in the pool. There were plenty of loungers, an outdoor shower, picnic tables, a grill, and lots of open space. A small grocery store across the street had almost everything we needed. We had a rental car for our longer visit, though the beach is about a 15-minute walk away.

Such a clean house! The place is quiet and the stay is affordable. Loved it.
