Private Jacuzzi Resort Amenities Close 2 Beach

There are plenty of places to eat and swim, and the beach is right nearby, a shorter walk than from the high-rises. The staff were wonderful. Beatrize at the coffee corner makes an amazing iced latte, and Tony at the infinity pool bar does the best mojitos. It felt heavenly, and we can’t wait to come back next year.

Aruba itself is gorgeous, with lovely weather and beaches. The high-rise area is busy, while Divi was very quiet, which wasn’t necessarily bad, just not what we expected. We really enjoyed the golf course, which was better than many reviews make it sound. Still, service overall was terrible. Almost every employee seemed aloof and didn’t know how to smile. Things moved painfully slowly or didn’t happen at all. We had to ask over and over about everything, from air conditioning maintenance and towels the cleaners hadn’t replaced to questions about charges. We wasted too much time trying to get problems fixed, and some never were. We asked six different people how the included gratuities worked and got six different answers. It felt pretty slimy. I’d return to Aruba, but not Divi.

We booked months ahead and noted that my wife would be seven months pregnant and couldn’t climb several flights of stairs. We also called to make sure the request was on file. But the first day of our vacation started terribly and was nearly ruined. After waiting over 90 minutes to check in, we learned our room was on the third floor with no elevator. The staff kept saying they never received the note and that nothing could be done. Rather than taking responsibility or finding an answer, they repeated the same explanation while we spent much of the afternoon sitting in the lobby. They eventually started looking for another option, but only after we pushed hard, and by then the damage was done. A resort should be able to handle a reasonable accessibility request made months in advance, especially for a pregnant guest. The poor preparation, lack of empathy, and bad service were extremely disappointing for a resort of this caliber.

The sunset was breathtaking, and we had a fantastic week in Aruba at the resort. The property and pools were always clean. Food ranged from very good to amazing, and the mixed drinks were about what you’d expect. We met so many great people, especially the wonderful folks from Canada. Steve, I’ll remember that Sunday with family forever. Eating at Windows and having the Carlos experience are musts. The food and service were incredible. I can’t thank the people at Windows enough for helping me stay hydrated.
