The booking process was an absolute nightmare. There's a reason you can't book through reputable sites. The day before I was leaving, I found out my room was under construction and unavailable, and was asked if I had anywhere else to stay. With flights already booked, I fully freaked out. Thankfully, there had been a cancellation, and over WhatsApp they assured me I had a room before I got on the plane. Still, yikes. There's no way to contact the place, no booking confirmation, and no information at all about check-in or check-out times or other details. The woman working there is so amazing, somehow keeping things running despite awful management. The rooms and pool are fine and pretty clean, though plenty of things are broken in. The terraces outside the rooms are absolutely lovely. There's hot water, but in the tropics cool showers aren't terrible. The kitchenette doesn't have a coffee maker. For the price, about 2 blocks from resorts charging $1,000/night, it's great, but only if you're an experienced vacation camper or couch surfer who likes a very chill approach to planning. The woman running the place is absolutely lovely.

The host Nita is what makes this place so special. She's nurturing, looks out for what you need, and makes arrangements so you can enjoy more of your time there. I got sick during the trip, and she showed up with tea, lemon, and honey. My parents often go on Sandals vacations and said her service was better than the butler service you pay extra for on those already expensive trips. We loved saving on food by shopping at the supermarket and cooking some meals on the BBQ. The stay is such a great price and the value is hard to beat. My mom stayed at the Marriott a block away and couldn't believe we could stay longer for maybe a quarter of what she paid. Thank you, Nita! We love you!

The quaint villas made for a lovely stay, and Nita is a wonderful host who goes above and beyond for people staying at Sunflower. She does her very best to keep the place clean and running. I'll definitely return and recommend it to others. If you're after something laid-back rather than high-end, this is the place. Thank you, Nita, for all you did while we were at Sunflower. I'll miss you. ❤️

We had to leave after one night and find somewhere else to stay, but nobody explained the refund policy, and we weren't refunded for the nights we didn't use. There was no proper reception or concierge either. A resident was sent to collect our card payment on behalf of someone described as the “owner.” The room and bathroom were unhygienic, the amenities were badly outdated, and the property had a foul smell. It felt far below even a one-star facility, despite being presented as four-star. I don't understand how it got that rating. Don't be fooled by the stars or the reviews.

Nita was a wonderful host and shared loads of suggestions for things to see and do around Aruba. The pool was quiet and clean, a welcome place to cool down on those hot September days. My room was comfortable and clean, and the kitchenette had everything I needed to cook for myself. The price was very reasonable, too. If you're after The Ritz, this probably isn't your place, but for comfort and hospitality at a fair rate, I'd definitely recommend it.
