The staff were helpful, and some spoke Russian. The lobby was nice, and the location in the heart of the Old Town was perfect. The rooms were the weak point, so this felt more like a three and a half star experience. Ours was tiny compared with the photos, with a low, squeaky bed, badly lumpy pillows, a broken wardrobe, and a minibar fridge that leaked. We stayed in November and it was very cold, so we slept in our bathrobes. Hot water took about 10 minutes to come through, and the bathroom floor was freezing. Breakfast was average, and coffee from the machine and fresh juice cost extra. This didn't spoil our time in the wonderful city, but we expected more comfort and coziness in the room.

Staying at Sunday Hotel Baku was a really good experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Being right in Icherisheher made it easy to reach places like the Maiden Tower.

The receptionists were really nice and helpful, but my room was small and looked nothing like the photos. The bathroom had a musty smell, and there was no elevator, so I had to carry my luggage upstairs.
