Port Marine By Hollywood Hotel

Rahim at reception made us feel at home, offering helpful information about the area and such hospitable service. The service throughout was excellent, and our comfortable room was worth the stay. The hotel is new enough that everything still feels clean and well maintained. Port Marine Hotel is set away from the main streets and central attractions, but we enjoyed the peace and lovely view. Breakfast was included, which was handy since nearby dining choices aren't very varied and tend to focus on seafood, which may not suit everyone. We had a pleasant stay in Baku.

The rooms are good if you get one with a nice view, but service was a problem. Only one or two staff members spoke English, and communication with the rest was difficult. They say water is the only thing that isn't chargeable, yet getting it was a struggle. Each time we asked, it took hours to arrive. The hotel is a little far from the city, with no direct taxi connection, so avoid it if you want to stay near the centre. The breakfast buffet was very poor too. You might not find enough to eat in the morning and could end up hungry.

The breakfast was great, especially thanks to Alim's service. He was a great guy.
