Hotel Sapphire Baku

The room we were given was a downgrade, even though they called it a gift. It was tucked in the far corner of the floor and had a door in a suspiciously different color from the others. From the balcony, all I could see was trash on the roof of the next building. The rooms were nowhere near the standard shown in the Agoda pictures, which I believe are fake. They call themselves a 5-star hotel because of the location, but when I asked receptionist Abdur Rahman, he said they wouldn’t even be 3 stars somewhere else. I feel the receptionist and manager are fooling customers together. They promised me a refund for 2 nights, but I still haven’t received it. Their staff hate their management. Booking this hotel was horrible and disappointing, and I wasted my money. Please stay away from this scam.

My client had a very bad experience here. No one was available to help at reception, the doors were always open, the geyser did not work, and there was no cleanliness. It was very noisy too. I would never suggest booking again. They need to improve their hospitality services.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location, within walking distance of Nizami Street. The service was the worst, and I’ve never dealt with staff this unprofessional. They didn’t provide a basic item like a blanket, and nobody was around to help with luggage. We booked through a travel agency on their recommendation and didn’t expect such a bad experience. I would never recommend this place.

My booking was cancelled the week before we were due to travel, with no explanation, and I couldn’t reach the hotel by phone or email. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else. It was easy enough to find another place, and I’d absolutely recommend doing that.
