Hotel Sheraton Baku Intourist

I asked about a late checkout when I checked in for one night. The reception team said they could only confirm on the checkout day, depending on availability. After breakfast, I was told I could pay 50% and stay until 18:00. I came back an hour later to pay, but another colleague said they couldn’t do it because there were no rooms available. I checked the hotel system and sites such as booking.com and Agoda.com, and saw more than five rooms listed. They said those rooms were under renovation. When I asked whether they’d tell me there were no rooms if I made a new reservation, they had no answer. I wasn’t asking for a free late checkout, I was willing to pay. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t provide this service or try to make a customer comfortable. I considered making a new booking to see if they would really say there were no rooms, but chose to move to another hotel. I don’t want to stay somewhere I can’t feel comfortable. I had a sea-view room, but they put me on the first floor, at the far end of the corridor, even though they could see I had a baby with me. Street noise came into the room and made it uncomfortable to sleep. I’ve been to 46 countries and hundreds of hotels, and this was the first time I felt a hotel didn’t want its guests to be comfortable and happy.

The location is very good, and there’s a lovely city view from outside the hotel. I had a wonderful stay at Sheraton Baku Intourist Hotel. The staff were supportive, kind, and always ready to help. Food was amazing, especially the breakfast, with lots of fresh choices. A perfect place to stay in Baku, highly recommended.

We spent five days at Sheraton while visiting Baku, and the Caspian Sea view from the hotel was beautiful. It’s fairly central, about a 30-minute walk to the main city center, though we usually took a taxi and reached the main places in around six minutes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and neat. We liked the lobby and restaurant too, and the food was delicious. Their breakfast granola was especially good. We had a really pleasant stay and I’d recommend Sheraton Baku Intourist.

I went to Baku for my birthday weekend and left really happy with the stay. The hotel is conveniently close to key attractions, with a great view, and the price felt reasonable for the level of service. From the beginning, every staff member went out of their way to help and accommodate me. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, enjoyable visit.
