Wyndham Baku

Vahid at the restaurant was a kind soul, too. And Shams at Wyndham Baku Hotel made our stay unforgettable. She welcomed us warmly and with genuine kindness, and we felt truly cared for. She went out of her way to look up places for us to visit and carefully wrote the details down. Her sweet personality, lovely smile, and caring nature made us feel like family rather than guests. She's dedicated to her work and puts so much heart into it. Thank you, Shams, for your warmth and patience, and for making our time in Baku so special. We'll remember you long after our trip ends.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the whole place had a welcoming feel. The staff were warm, polite, and ready to help with whatever I needed. Everything was handled with care, and the service was excellent and smooth. Special mention to Adil, Parvin, Tunar, and Muraz for their 100 percent service. I had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend the hotel for its hospitality and comfort.

We came to Baku to relax and explore, but ended up having the shortest check-in to check-out stay ever. I booked Wyndham Baku through Trip.com because the rooms were spacious, but the location made us feel stuck. It's on the outer edge of Baku, with construction all around. Reaching the hotel or getting a cab took about 30-35 minutes, sometimes up to 40. The routes cabs use to get there can feel unsettling, as if you're about to be kidnapped. With the roads being worked on, even walking a mile away felt unsafe. There are no bikes, scooters, or other facilities nearby, and getting around from the hotel is awful. In an emergency, you might wait at least 30-35 minutes for a cab or quick ride while the roads are under construction. The booking sites had the wrong information, and the commute by cab wasn't easy. I asked Trip.com to cancel my booking. A person in higher management, who apparently never sits at the hotel, refused even when I offered to pay for the days we'd used and get the rest refunded. I called the direct number to ask, and they hung up after a few minutes. The ground staff really are good people, but the head management were terrible. We also asked for water. Ten minutes would have been a reasonable wait, but it took 45 minutes, and the person who brought it just said sorry. Are they serious? Trip.com can take up to 24 hours to resolve an issue like this. I had to keep pushing them to speak with the duty manager, and it took forever. Wyndham may be good in other countries, but after this experience I'll never book it again. Don't choose it for the brand or just because the rooms are spacious. Try to stay where you can enjoy the city's atmosphere. Please put accurate information on the site and give guests guidance about cab travel. This was really unexpected and frustrating. You wasted a day of mine. If you're thinking of booking through Trip.com, keep in mind what happened to us. I hate Wyndham Baku, and I hope no one traveling alone comes to stay here.

The rooms are spacious and have all the facilities. The food options were the main problem: it had no taste, the only non-veg choice was sausage pieces, and I ended up with just an omelet and flakes. There wasn't much fruit to choose from either. Service was poor. It took two hours to get the bedsheets and pillow I asked for, and most of the time reception wouldn't answer calls, so you had to go there in person. It wasn't managed like a four-star hotel. There was no AC, and they told us to open a window.
