The location was hard to beat, with a supermarket just around the corner and local bars close by where a pint cost 1.20 manat. It was also really quiet. I stayed for two weeks and loved it. The staff were laid-back, spoke great English and Russian, and were happy to help with any problem. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. Breakfast was great too.

SCAM WARNING! As of Jul-19, the hostel was no longer operating, yet its website still let people book rooms. They wouldn't refund the reservation charges. Stay away!
