River Inn Resort and Spa Hotel

The indoor pool and steam room were a big part of our stay. We spent lots of time swimming and relaxing there. We stayed two nights at River Inn Hotel in Nabran and loved the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. It was February, but the weather was lovely, and my husband and I had a great time celebrating Valentine’s Day. Our room had a beautiful Scandinavian-style design, simple, cozy, and elegant. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

The pool was massive and the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Outside visitors aren’t allowed, which is a huge plus. There’s lots to do, including a zoo, Play station, fishing, walks in the forest, and plenty of events. The service was impressive, and the breakfast was unbelievable, with preparation you can order online. The location is pricey, but the cost seems reasonable when you consider the price and quality. Have a rest here, it’s worth the money spent.

The resort is laid out nicely and seems well designed, but we didn’t feel very welcome. Many staff members just stared without smiling or acknowledging us, and customer service could use work. English was another problem: only two or three people spoke it, and not fluently. A young man in the restaurant and two people at reception were the only ones who could communicate with us. It seems better suited to locals or Russian speakers. Even the breakfast staff didn’t speak English, and the buffet needs to be better organized. Getting there from Baku takes about three and a half hours. The road isn’t great, with long stretches where you can only drive 40 or 50 km/h.

There’s a lovely 780-meter forest trail for walking or running, and the hotel sits right in the forest.
