Hotel Austria & Bosna

This isn't a five-star hotel. The air conditioning was out in every room, and they didn't tell us. If the manager had opened all the windows in the hotel, there wouldn't have been a problem. The shower also flooded the bathroom floor all the way to the toilet. And when I ordered two beers, the waiter forgot about them after a long wait, so I had to pick them up at the bar myself.

They told us at check-in that the wellness area would be open until 10 pm, but it never worked during our stay. The pool was empty, and every night when we asked about wellness, we were told it was just not working that night. There was no hot water for showers, the hotel couldn't provide a kettle, and the elevator was out of service for three days. Some five-star hotel. I wouldn't recommend it.

The reception staff were unfriendly and didn't seem interested in helping or dealing with problems. Housekeeping was unreliable too: the room wasn't cleaned each day, and repeated requests got little or no response. It was dirty when I arrived, with a small room, an unhygienic bathroom and visible grime. The linens and pillows were clearly unclean and uncomfortable, so sleeping was difficult. The air conditioning blew warm air instead of cooling the room, a serious problem in hot weather. This was far below what I expect from a five-star hotel. At best, I'd give it two stars. The worst hotel stay I've had, and I won't return or recommend it to anyone looking for cleanliness, comfort or professional service.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport, but I wish I'd checked the reviews first. The room was spacious, yet cleanliness was a real problem. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine, and there was residue on both the toilet and the door, making it clear it hadn't been cleaned properly. They need new cleaning staff.
