The staff are attentive and kind, and they made sure our needs were taken care of. We never went hungry! From the moment we entered Hotel Matal, the owner's warm hospitality made us feel like family, and the place felt like a home away from home. We're already looking forward to coming back.

We stayed at Hotel Matal over Easter, but the room was quite dirty. There was dirt on the table, toilet, and other items, so we had to clean it ourselves. The hostess Diana knew we were coming, yet the room was cold and we were cold at night. We didn't feel comfortable after that, so we found accommodation at the same level elsewhere. Hotel Matal returned the remaining money and canceled our stay through the Booking application, which is why we can only leave a rating here. I hope the hotel's quality improves and that other tourists enjoy their stay in the wonderful place of Medjugorje.

(Nightmare) I once stayed at this horrible place and wouldn't recommend it to anyone hoping for a peaceful stay in Medugorje. It gets noisy at times, there's no soundproofing throughout the place, and they take in undesirables. There was fighting, rudeness, and a lack of care...

My host first brought out a tray of Bosnian coffee. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, and from there I could walk everywhere and visit all the historical sites on my checklist.

The owner's charm is what makes staying here feel so homely and welcoming. She always makes you feel welcome, and you leave with your tummy full of food.
