Five Rivers Rooms

The owner was welcoming and helpful, and the place was very clean. Our room had great air conditioning, and the shared kitchen was nice, with a filtered water tank. It’s close to the old town, with a bakery, shops, and a cafe nearby. I thought 50€ per night was a very good price.

It’s about a 15-minute walk from the train and bus station, and close to Mostar’s old city. The host speaks fluent Italian but not English, though other family members can communicate in English. There’s a well-equipped balcony for sitting out, along with a washing machine, decent refrigerator, pizza oven, and oven cooktop. We could bake a pizza, have an aperitif, and enjoy the atmosphere. The call to prayer brings out the ancient tones and melodies as people head to the mosques around the area. The local stalls have plenty of cultural variety and things for sale. Walk across the old bridge, rebuilt in 2004, and look down at the clear river water. A great base for seeing what the area has to offer.

I’m surprised by the positive reviews and question whether they’re genuine. To put it politely, the accommodation wasn’t clean. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I think travelers should know what to expect.

The hosts gave us helpful suggestions for places to eat, drink wine, walk, and even visit in the surrounding mountains. The garden has a relaxing charm and feels full of medieval Mostar’s spirit. Rooms are equipped, clean, and pleasant, and the kitchen has everything you need. It’s a great spot for a longer summer stay, right in the heart of the old city.
