Best of all were the people running this Villa. They were incredibly friendly. The area was quiet, and the Old Bridge was a short walk away. It was affordable for couples or families, and everything felt new, clean and in good working order after the recent renovation. Each room had air conditioning, and the Wi-Fi reached every corner. They also offer free parking and try to make sure every visitor gets a spot. If being too friendly could count as a downside, that would be it. One of the nicest places and groups of people I’ve come across while traveling through the Balkans.

We stayed for two weekend nights, and the room was spotless and comfortable, with more space than some three- or four-star hotels I’ve stayed in. It was quiet inside, and when we opened the window or door we could hear birds singing. The room also didn’t get as hot as apartments closer to the bridge. Villa Hum is centrally placed: walk straight out for about four minutes and you’re at the top of Old Bridge, right in the middle of Old Town. Thanks to Villa Hum.

The bedroom was spacious, and breakfast was good. The owner was a nice host and shared lots of information about Mostar and the surrounding area. Parking is secure, with the gate closed once the last person is back for the evening. It’s good accommodation near Mostar’s old town. Just remember to switch the boiler on before taking a shower.

The room and the rest of the place were very clean. Breakfast was decent, and the host asked what I liked, so the food was pretty good. But I arrived to a very cold room. It was large, with just one small electric radiator that couldn’t heat it enough for me to feel comfortable. The host immediately told me not to leave the heating on overnight, which felt strange when the room was so cold. The next day, while I was out, someone from the hosts came in and opened my window, then denied doing it when I asked why. Some people might be fine with all that, but I want to feel free when I travel. I felt pressured and no longer comfortable staying there, and I definitely wouldn’t return.

The room was comfortable, and the host was very nice. It’s about a seven-minute walk to stari grad. Breakfast had a good range of choices.
