We picked this hotel mostly because it’s just across the road from the main centre. It was generally clean and smelled pleasant throughout, and our room was a good size for two adults. We were there off-peak, so things felt relaxed and getting in was easy with traditional keys for the front door and room. The bathroom was clean too, and both the Wi-Fi and heating worked well. Breakfast was enough to get us going, and the dining area felt cosy and homely. We only met three staff members, including the breakfast lady. The main gentleman, who we called the “grandad,” was quite serious and there was a language barrier, but we really liked him. When we needed help, he contacted Saliney so we could speak in English. We never met Saliney in person, but she was very forthcoming and helpful. She arranged our day trip out of town at no extra cost, sorted a taxi to the train station, and explained everything clearly in English. We really appreciated her help and will miss the “grandad.” Our only small complaint was the limited room service. We messaged to ask for fresh sheets and towels, but didn’t get them. Maybe that was because our stay was short or staffing was limited. I’ve written a longer review because small, family-run hotels can be undervalued and overlooked when people compare them with big chains. The personal side of staying somewhere small meant a lot to us. We had no major problems, and it suited our three-night stay very well. We’d happily come back.

The place is only a short walk from Baščaršija, and parking is secure and included in the stay. Our room was clean and warm, with underfloor heating. Breakfast was light but quite good, and the owner was lovely while the staff were polite.

The room was brightly lit, breakfast was okay, and the hotel is close to Sarajevo’s center. But the wooden staircase is a serious hazard for anyone with mobility limitations. There’s no elevator, and at 74 I was put on the top floor and struggled badly to carry my luggage up. I asked the grumpy older man at reception for help three times, using very emphatic sign language, and he refused every time. Berr should be ashamed.

After driving all day from North Mecdonia through Serbia, I reached Sarajevo at night with my friends and a confirmed booking from booking. The man at the hotel was rude and unprofessional. He grabbed my arm, pushed me outside, and shouted, “no room,” even after I showed him the reservation. We were left out on the street with nowhere to stay, and spent the night searching for another place.

Nuray hanım made wonderful Bosnian coffee, and she was so friendly. The service was great throughout, too. The hotel is clean and cozy, right in Sarajevo’s Old Town. No need to keep looking, this is the spot.
