It was an easy walk to the old town, and the rooms were roomy and comfortable. The waiter and barman was fantastic, working day and night and always friendly. He pointed us to a lovely wine from the local monastery.

The best part of breakfast was one kind waiter who noticed my boiled eggs were stone cold and offered to bring freshly cooked ones. I'm on a strict diet and usually eat just boiled eggs and salad. They seemed to have been cooked the night before and taken straight from the fridge. Dinner was only served from 8:30 to 9:30 PM, with little flexibility after a long trip. The food was just okay, enough to fill you up, and there wasn't much variety. The hotel looked decent from outside at check-in around 7:30 PM, with a big four stars sign, but inside I wondered how it had that rating. In some parts of Africa, it might barely pass for two stars. There was no kettle in the room and the minibar didn't work. To plug in the fridge, I had to pull it out of the cabinet, reach a hidden socket behind it, then somehow shove everything back. I managed because I'm fairly young, but an older guest could have a hard time. The shower flooded the bathroom floor, and its large road-facing window, about 2m by 1.5m, had only a see-through roller blind. During the day it was fine, but at night with the light on, anyone walking by could see in. No privacy. The hotel is nowhere near four-star quality. Management seemed poor, with nobody taking responsibility and staff passing the buck. It felt more like a low-end guesthouse with a four-star badge by mistake. The location has real potential, and I hope it isn't wasted under this management.

MARIJA was extremely rude and unprofessional. We lost the second key card and she scolded us, raising her voice. We paid the €10 fee without arguing, so the problem wasn't the money. No guest should be spoken to with such disrespect.

The bathroom was dirty when we arrived. When I politely asked for it to be cleaned again, receptionist Marjia gave a dismissive “we will see,” making it clear to me that guest concerns aren't valued here. She was incredibly rude. Unacceptable, proceed with caution.
