Island Inn All Inclusive Hotel

With just 24 rooms, it has a homely feel, and the staff are always cheerful and ready to help. Pebbles Beach is only a 30-second walk away, the garrison is five minutes away, and Bridgetown is about 30 minutes away. Dinner alternates between buffet and menu nights, with something for everyone. Tre, Terry and especially Crystal at the bar made us feel like part of the family. I’d definitely recommend it and will return.

The food was delicious and changed from day to day, so compliments to the chef, kitchen team and waitresses. The hotel is in a great spot, about a two-minute walk from Pebbles Beach, and the rooms are a good size. The bathroom could use an update. Staff were friendly, though a few could smile more.

Our upgraded superior garden view room was in a fabulous location, and we loved the daily monkey mayhem. I was especially chuffed to spot lots of Tetrio Sphinx caterpillars, which was a priority for me. It took about 20 minutes to walk into Bridgetown, where there was plenty going on. We also went to a T20 cricket match one evening, and the atmosphere was insane, lol. We’re in our 40s, but enjoyed chatting with the other guests and made friends with one couple for life. The resort seemed to be about 95% retired couples. We stayed for 11 nights, from 3 to 14 Sept 25. It’s a lovely boutique hotel close to a beach. Staff were welcoming and most were friendly. Crystal was brilliant, with such a bubbly personality and real manager qualities, but sadly she went on holiday two days into our stay. Terry and Mani at the bar were great; we found Trey a bit sulky and lazy. The waiting staff were professional and attentive. The food was good and there was lots of variety, though the fish and meat were a bit overcooked most days. Our safe wasn’t working, and the shower drain kept blocking. We reported both on the first day. The shower got so bad that we had to use all our towels to mop up the overflow. After one shower it took 20 minutes to drain on the first day, and by the ninth day it took three hours. It was fixed on day nine, probably after the cleaning staff reported it. I don’t think we’ll return to Barbados, as there are other islands to visit, but if we did, we’d definitely stay here again.

The food was very good, and all the staff were helpful, pleasant and keen to please. Housekeeping kept the room clean. It was fairly spacious, though showing its age. The hotel’s core is around 200 years old and was once a rum store.
