Round House

We showed up for lunch without a reservation and got a table inside, with an amazing view and a lovely breeze coming in. Everyone on staff was so friendly and welcoming. The drinks and food were great. We tried the breadfruit poppers, coconut shrimp, and hamburger, and all were delicious. A heads-up on access: there are lots of steps up to the restaurant. This side of the island is very hilly, so getting around could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

We had a reservation for Sunday afternoon and were seated promptly. The service had the usual island-time pace, but no worries, just relax and be happy. The food was excellent, the views outstanding, and the prices reasonable. This review is for the restaurant only.

The views are the best thing about this place, but getting there was rough. It's in the middle of nowhere, the roads were horrendous, and we had to park down another hill and walk five minutes. They also missed or forgot our booking before we even got a table. We waited 45 minutes to an hour for drinks, which arrived with the starters. The prawns were nice, though there was too much batter. Then the mains took another hour or so. None of the seven people at my table finished their meal. The chicken was dry, and the oxtail wasn't nice even for one bite. This was the worst meal I had in my two weeks in Barbados. I'd avoid it.

We found this restaurant while looking around Bathsheba and Cattlewash, and I'm glad we stopped. The ocean views were gorgeous, the food was excellent, and the waitstaff were kind and pleasant. It was a wonderful visit, and I'd come back. They should make a separate Google location for the restaurant, since most diners would probably give it five stars.
