Time Out Hotel

We spent two weeks at the time out hotel starting 8th February, and have already booked to return next January. Dover beach is just across the road. Reception were friendly and helpful, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The room cleaning team were excellent, especially Sabrina, who always smiled and left our room spotless. Couldn't fault the hotel.

We're at Timeout Hotel now for the last part of our honeymoon. We had told them in advance, while visiting friends who were already staying there. But when we arrived at 9pm on 5.01.26, the front desk staff were cold and didn't welcome us. Our room had two single beds. When I raised it, the staff member said she knew and it would be sorted in the morning. The room is noisy early in the morning and late at night. We also reported the cold showers, but nothing changed. The only breakfast offered is an English breakfast, with other options costing extra. In Barbados, they could at least offer a Bajan breakfast. This isn't good enough. I wouldn't recommend this tired-looking hotel or its tired staff.

The rooms are acceptable for the price, and the front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The location on St Lawrence Gap is excellent. I avoided the bar and restaurant after poor service and painfully slow food. It gave me the impression no one was managing it. Breakfast music was so loud we had to shout to hear each other across the table. We stopped going, which was easy since there are plenty of much better bars and restaurants nearby.

On our second visit in two years, the place seemed to have improved. The rooms are bright and airy, and they looked fresher, perhaps after a fresh coat of paint. The staff also seemed happier and more welcoming than last year, and they provided what we needed and helped when asked. I think the receptionist was called jermain? She's wonderful, so warm and helpful, she deserves a raise. Music from across the road can get a bit noisy, though the hotel can't control that. We had a great stay and will definitely return.
