Dhaka Regency & Resort Hotel

Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort is close to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, which makes it convenient for travelers. It has comfortable rooms, several dining options, a rooftop pool, and a relaxing spa. The place is calm, clean, and well managed, and works for business or leisure stays. The modern amenities and location make it a reliable Dhaka option.

I visited this hotel for a meeting with a foreign guest. The rooms and service quality are really good, and I personally recommend it for accommodation and meetings.

Dinner buffet was the one good thing for me, with plenty of choices and good quality, though it was overpriced and the offers, as usual in Dhaka, were tied to specific bank cards. This was my second stay at Dhaka Regency Hotels and Resort in four months, and the service seemed to have got worse. The STANDARD room is basically a box with no windows. A room without a view and a room without a window are two different things. Before I booked, I was told the Standard room had no view, but nobody mentioned it had no window. After arriving, I paid extra to upgrade to a PREMIUM room with WONDOWs. It stayed below a comfortable temperature for both nights, with no heating. On 31 Dec'25, the temperature in the PREMIUM room was 17-18°C. That's below 20°C, and I don't see how a self-described 3+ star hotel can have no central heating or heat pump just because Dhaka rarely gets cold. They gave excuses about having no heaters left, saying all 40 had already been handed out. Of course guests will want heaters when rooms are that cold. They should stock more. After arguing until 11PM on 31st December 2025, we finally got one. None of the sockets in that Premium room worked properly, the bathroom sink was clogged, and the bathtub shower pressure kept changing. On Thursday, 1 January'26, drums from the rooftop restaurant's musical evening thumped loudly all evening. Front desk management was extremely inefficient and almost annoying. I had to keep explaining that the extra payment adjustment for my advance booking had already been made for their 31 December program, which was cancelled. Each front desk person made me call the sales person who handled our reservation, even though she'd left clear instructions. I had to explain everything again to each person and call the reservation person repeatedly. It's amusing how hotels all over Bangladesh give themselves star ratings. If you call yourself a 3 or 5 star hotel, your service should match. Having a swimming pool doesn't qualify you for anything extra.

This business-class hotel is near the airport, with guest rooms and suites, a Thai Spa, Health Club, bar, swimming pool, and buffet breakfast. I never missed breakfast, and I liked the service overall.
