Hotel Afford Inn

The location is excellent, but the property needs major renovation and proper interior design to be suitable for guests. Online photos set you up for disappointment because the hotel looks nothing like them. My room had no TV, exposed wiring, dirty floors, and an outdated bathroom.

Breakfast was probably my favorite part. There was a good mix of continental and local food. The sheets and beds were clean and comfortable too, and the toilet was reasonably clean with plenty of hot water and strong showers, though dated. The location is great for getting to the airport by Uber in a few minutes, but traffic on the way there can be horrific. With the road layout, it took around 30 minutes to reach the airport. Rooms are average, and the AC seemed centrally controlled, so I couldn't set the temperature myself. The ceiling fan helped. If you get a front-facing room, constant honking from the nearby road is the worst part. It goes on 24/7 and the walls don't insulate it well. The fans drown out some noise, but anyone who can't tolerate it should avoid this hotel. I'd stay again for the location and breakfast, since I can put up with the honking. Definitely a 3 star hotel.

The corridors smelled awful, and I don't know why. The sofa seat covers were torn, and the intercom was faulty with so much static that reception calls were hard to understand. Still, I felt safe here, with a 24-hour reception and gate security. I stayed one night with my wife, mainly for the airport location. Pickup and drop-off cost extra; I used the drop-off, and it was on time. The room service boy was very kind and brought me paracetamol when I asked. They also gave me an early wake-up call to make sure I was up for the transfer. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a safe, affordable place near the airport. It's not the choice for luxury.
