Hotel Grand Circle Inn

The WiFi was the one letdown. I’d be better off using mobile data. Apart from that, the price felt well worth it: the room was clean, the bedding and towels were fresh, and room service was good. I could make coffee or tea in the room, and the complimentary breakfast had rice, chicken, soup, and plenty of other items, more than I could eat. The rooftop restaurant served good food, which I could also order to my room. I don’t think you’ll find a better hotel in this area.

The hotel charged us 5,000 taka, even though online prices showed around tk 3,000, and they said no rooms were available at that lower price. The room was very small, and nobody brought room service when we called. The place was unclean, with an unacceptable lift area and a bad smell. When we raised the price issue, the reception staff member shown in the photo was very difficult to deal with. The location was poor and the hotel extremely overpriced. Be careful about the rooftop photos, and stay away.

The rooftop restaurant really is beautiful, but I went because of their Ramadan offer, which the Facebook post said would run throughout Ramadan. Once I arrived, they told me it had been cancelled and charged 4500. That felt far too expensive, since I could get better hotels in Dhaka for that price. I accepted what they asked because I didn’t want a hassle in front of my companion. After I got home, the offer was still posted, and they had made it even more attractive, changing it from 2500 to 2400 xD.

It was quiet and peaceful there, and felt safe with the Police line nearby. A rickshaw from Kamalapur Railway station cost just 30 BDT. The food was great, and all the staff were friendly and cordial, especially room service. It was my first stay, with my partner, and we enjoyed the whole day there. Hope to stay again soon.
