The air conditioner started putting out smoke with a very strong burning smell just 30 minutes after check-in. I asked to check out and get a partial refund, but they refused, saying they had more "available rooms." Their treatment of a loyal customer was very disappointing and unacceptable. Very, very unfortunate.

The rooms were awful and damp, and mosquitoes kept me awake all night. Early in the morning, before checkout, I called reception to cancel my second night and they confirmed it by phone. At checkout they claimed they'd never received my call and said they wouldn't refund me. A horrible hotel. Stay away.

It's in a busy part of Gulshan in Dhaka, and the setup is like a serviced apartment. My room was decent, though the window screens had tears and there were lots of mosquitoes inside. They didn't provide repellent liquid at first. It took several requests before they finally brought some. The basic toilet had hot water on demand, but there was no in-room tea or coffee service or water boiler. Breakfast was simple but tasty. An average place for a short stay.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the complimentary breakfast was OK. That's why I rated it 4 instead of 3. The location is good, the service is great, and the prices are affordable, but the converted apartment building is quite old and the rooms need renovating. If old buildings or rooms are a dealbreaker for you, I wouldn't recommend it. There are better options at similar prices.

I booked a Deluxe room and paid for one, but was given a Standard room. They said Standard was what I'd originally chosen. The room photos seem mostly graphically enhanced and can be tempting, but the actual rooms look different.
