Right in the heart of Aalst, Malpertuus is close to the city center, train station, and pretty much anything you might need. We were delighted with our stay. We thought we'd booked a room, but it turned out to be a full apartment. The bedroom has a little balcony overlooking the garden, and the living room faces the street. Between them are a compact, well equipped bathroom, a separate toilet, and a hallway where an extra bed can be set up if needed. There's a kitchen with a burner, sink, fridge, microwave, pots and pans, plates, cups, and glasses. The living room also has a table with four chairs, a cabinet, TV, sofa, and two very comfortable armchairs. Really, it has everything you could want. Breakfast is generous, with three kinds of bread, rolls, cold cuts, cheeses, cereal, and fruit. Lunch and dinner aren't served, but if you'd like something that's not out, like eggs, just ask the manager and she'll make it for you. The apartment and the service were excellent. Malpertuus certainly earned my five stars.

The owner gave us such a warm welcome, and the place feels like home. It's in a really handy spot in Aalst, and in summer the inner garden is a nice feature. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. I'd definitely recommend it.

I booked an apartment for early February. They said the heating was broken, though I got the sense it had simply been switched off to cut costs. After spending a night in the freezing apartment, I left and cancelled the rest of my stay. Even so, I had to pay the full price for something that was nowhere near what had been advertised.

The landlady was polite, and the place is close to the center of Aalst. It's a good spot, though some areas could use repairs.

The owner was lovely and attentive to every detail, making sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The apartment was very comfortable and had all the amenities. It's also in a fantastic location near the historic center.
