Hotel Hinterland

Thomas welcomed us and made sure we felt at home. The food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast, and all the staff made our stay comfortable and pleasant. I've seen negative comments about this Hotel, and some rooms may look tired, but ours was spacious and easily fit three bikers with all our luggage. If you can live with needing a lick of paint here and there, I'd recommend it without hesitation. Thanks to everyone.

We had several power cuts, some lasting about 30 minutes and others only a few seconds. During them, the outlets stopped working, but the lights stayed on.

The staff were very helpful, and the hotel was absolutely lovely. We stayed in room 12 on the third floor for New Year's Eve. The windows rattled in the wind, and I did notice there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

The people who run the hotel are lovely, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The food is fantastic, especially the eggs at breakfast, which are worth the stay alone. Breakfast is simple, with bread, cheese, cereal and fruit, but the food quality is amazing. The cheese, butter and bread put what we have in England to shame. I'll definitely return. It looks like a castle, though it's modern built. The rooms are basic but nice and comfortable, a decent size, and have good views. My room's window opened and had a bug net across it. My dad's room had a door that opened onto a slight balcony. One small downside is the main staircase. The black marble stairs aren't very well lit during the day, and the winding section is quite dark. I missed a step a few times, and the stairs are a bit steep anyway. Use the elevator if you can, or take the back stairs by the huge window. Highly recommended!
