The host was very friendly when she welcomed us, and the location is perfect. The bed was really comfortable, but the room was small and there was no breakfast available, despite it being a B&B. Cleanliness was a letdown: we saw a lot of dust and dirt on the stairs, and the rooms and hotel needed more care. The TV volume was set at 4 and couldn't be turned up, so we couldn't watch a movie at a higher volume. There was also plenty of noise from other guests because the rooms aren't insulated. The stay was okay overall, but the cleanliness bothered me, and the price felt high for the quality of the room. This mini hotel could use some TLC.

The room had dirty spots and no towels when we arrived. The owner said she'd bring some later, but we had to call again and wait an hour and a half before they showed up. The air conditioning barely worked, so the room stayed hot all night, and we had no key. They also seemed unaware we'd booked for two nights. We asked for a refund because we didn't want to stay another night, but they refused, saying these weren't problems. Social Deal couldn't help because the owner wouldn't authorize it, so we ended up at another hotel, which was much better. Even check-in started badly. We struggled to understand the owner's accent and asked her to repeat herself; she replied, “well people are deaf today.” That's a rude way to greet guests. The service was poor throughout, and for €125, all you might get is a nice breakfast. We wish we'd stayed elsewhere and wouldn't recommend this place.

We ended up having to find somewhere else to sleep both nights. On the first night, we arrived 20 minutes after check-in had ended. We'd called ahead and were told it would be fine, but everything was shut and nobody answered. They called back three hours later, at 3am. We tried reaching them several times the next day, with no luck. When we asked Booking.com for a refund for that first night, the whole two-night booking was canceled without warning and without any money returned. We couldn't reach the hotel after that either. Booking.com later told us the room had been given to another customer straight away. I'd strongly advise staying elsewhere. Antwerp has plenty of nice hotels.

The owner was really unfriendly, and the room felt dated. Our bed had dirty pillows, the mini shampoo was nearly empty, and there wasn't any toilet paper in the bathroom. I wouldn't book this B&B.
