Hilton Antwerp Old Town

The only small hassle was the walk from our room, which was far from the elevator, each time we went around the building. Aside from that, the room was nice, service was great, and they let us check in a little early. We appreciated the hospitality. We spent two nights here and had a lovely time in Antwerp. The location is hard to beat for exploring the old town and Grote Markt. We stayed on the Executive level, where the lounge was great. Happy hour and the rooftop area were especially relaxing, with nice city views. I’d recommend it to others visiting the old town, and we’d stay again.

We had so much luggage and three dogs with us when we arrived from our hometown of St. Moritz, Switzerland, for a fourthnight tour. We parked in front of the hotel, and a very unkind woman came out right away and told us we had exactly 10 minutes to move the car and check in. It left us feeling awful and angry. Then we got to our suite, which was completely bare and felt like a hospital room, with no coziness at all. The towels were poor quality, and there was plenty more wrong. We cut our Antwerp trip short because of this terrible hotel. We’ll never come back.

The rooms are spacious, and that’s about the only good thing. Service was terrible. The hotel restaurant made my wife ill with food poisoning, and we ended up in a Belgian hospital. Then we left a bag in the room and waited 30 minutes for the cleaning lady to bring it out. The front desk lady wouldn’t be flexible, so we missed our train and may have missed our flight too. Room service had also run out of food at 10 pm on Saturday the 16th of May, despite there being supposed to be a night menu. I’ve been a Hilton Gold member for years, and this was by far my worst Hilton experience ever.

We’ll definitely return. This is my favorite hotel in Antwerp, with a comfortable bed, a good breakfast, and plenty of restaurants nearby. The location is excellent, and the hotel is very comfortable.
