The place is quiet and relaxing, with music playing throughout the day. I really enjoyed how welcoming and friendly the owners were, along with the breakfast and the menu and dinner options. There’s parking for five cars and a few motorcycles. The shower room was a little small, though clean and practical, with thermostatic mixer taps. The weather was so bad that I didn’t get to use the fireplace. Excellent value for money.

The bedrooms are lovely, and the cottage mixes a traditional look with modern touches. Out front there’s a nice terrace, plus a smaller covered one at the side with ping-pong and air hockey tables. There’s also a jacuzzi and barbecue.

The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, which was the one good part of the stay. The welcome was more than mixed: we arrived while the owners were having drinks on the terrace, and they didn’t come to reception until 10 minutes later. We couldn’t use the jacuzzi during our stay, and they weren’t exactly friendly with guests.

The owners deserve congratulations for trying to preserve the place’s authenticity while still meeting the standards. We were welcomed warmly, and the food was very good. Nothing to complain about, with plenty of charm and authenticity for an Ardennes weekend.

It was a bit of a shame. We asked if they could make a vegetarian dish and were told yes, cheese croquettes with vegetables, but we still got a plate full of shrimp. The vegetables were just a lettuce leaf and a small cauliflower floret. The woman wasn’t very friendly, and unfortunately the food wasn’t very tasty either.
