Some of us left very disappointed and said we’d never come back. It’s a real shame, because the owner was friendly and quickly fixed a heating issue on New Year’s Eve, and our group’s good humor helped keep the stay from being too bad. The website photos don’t show the cottage’s overall condition. It needs serious renovation. It may be clean and probably pleasant in summer, but I wouldn’t recommend it in winter. Wind comes through holes in the walls in the attic bedrooms, and the insulation is a major problem. Some bathrooms lack amenities, and the uneven floorboards had us tripping constantly. The decor is a matter of taste and wasn’t the main issue.

We spent a weekend here with eight people. There were spacious rooms, a pleasant atmosphere, and lots of facilities available.

The farmhouse has a lot of charm, with six enormous bedrooms, and it’s a beautiful building. The old furniture is the one drawback. It doesn’t appear in the photos, and the armchairs and sofas look as though they were gathered from different family homes. If the owner coordinated the furnishings, the place could easily deserve five stars.

It’s possible to make something beautiful here, but the structure needs proper attention first. Some beams are sagging where repairs have been made, and there are planks with memel. It’s high time this was dealt with. Back to basics.

We were traveling with a baby just a few months old, and indoor temperatures of 14-17 degrees Celsius were simply unacceptable. The house was impossible to heat, and two of us caught colds during the stay. We know the Google Nest system well and have one at home. We even changed the overnight schedule, hoping the next day would be more bearable, but it didn’t help. The heaters did get warm, yet the house never reached a comfortable temperature. This wasn’t a problem with the heating itself, so contacting them was pointless. Unless the whole house can be insulated in a weekend.
