Apartment in Center of Blankenberge

The apartment had a well-stocked kitchen and a comfortable bed, and the sea views from our Holiday Suites stay were stunning. But the weekend noise was substantial, with loud music from nearby bars carrying on late into the evening. For a week's stay at this price, I'd expect enough toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, and dish soap. I was also uneasy about room access relying on a code alone.

We stayed two nights at Holiday Suites Blankenberge and had a genuinely pleasant time. I'd read negative reviews beforehand and was a little concerned, but our own experience was positive. The suite was well appointed and spacious enough for a family of four, and the property was good for the price and close to the water. It was easy to reach by car, with a handy loading zone at the back. We parked at the nearby marina, just a stone's throw away. Maybe some things have improved, or perhaps we simply had a different experience, but we would happily consider staying again.

The room had an unpleasant smell, as if someone had smoked a whole carton of cigarettes there a few weeks earlier. The beds were pretty basic for the price, though the place was otherwise well maintained. The beach view was nice, and the location was good, with lots of restaurants nearby.

The studio was filthy, with sand and hair on the floor and a nasty, musty smell. We paid €260 for one night and weren't told beforehand that there'd be no sheets or towels. A huge scam. I wouldn't stay there again even if they paid me.
