SeaSide Blankenberge

The staff were attentive and friendly throughout my stay, and the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with everything I needed. Seaside Blankenberg sits right on the beach in the heart of Blankenberg, with stunning sea views from the room. Waking up to the waves and watching the sunset from the hotel were highlights. It’s easy to explore town from here, and the beach is just steps away for a walk or some sunbathing. I also found it affordable for the location and service. A cozy spot with great ocean views, and I’d definitely stay again.

The pictures look much nicer than the place does in reality. It’s dirty, costs about twice what it should, and there’s no free parking nearby. The hotel feels completely old-fashioned, with an old tobacco smell in the corridors and dirty paintings, except at reception. It was far from quiet, with noise from the elevator, workers, and street. The Double Room Sun may be sunny, but unless you’re on the top floor, the windows face the walls of the other building. Cleanliness was very average.

The Aparthotel is in a perfect location, but I won’t be coming back. We booked an apartment with a kitchen, and I’ve never seen one so poorly equipped. For 100€ a night, I’d at least expect a clean room. The floor was dirty, the shower head was broken, and there was dust everywhere.

The room was cozy and warm after I taped up the leaky windows and doors to keep the cold North Sea wind out. It had standard amenities, a rather small bathroom, a kettle, and a basket full of coffee, creamer, and sugar sticks. The rooms themselves were quite good. What felt strange was that we didn’t see any hotel staff during our two-night stay. They said someone would be at reception before 7 pm or in the morning to take payment, but no one was there.
