We booked this hotel months ahead, then got a cancellation notice just a few days before our stay. The email said we'd been told this could happen because of renovations, but we honestly hadn't been informed, so it took us completely by surprise. I had a major ultra trail running race the morning after our stay, and finding somewhere else at short notice on a very busy weekend was almost impossible. If renovations are running over, that should be clear well in advance. An earlier heads-up would have saved us a lot of trouble and shown some care for customers.

The location is nice, around a seven-minute walk and climb to the center of Bouillon. The room was mediocre, quite dated, with very small pillows. We could live with that, but we'd booked a panorama room advertised on the website as having air conditioning. It didn't, and with afternoon sun on the hotel the room gets very hot in warm weather.

We rode there by motorcycle and could park the bikes under shelter overnight, which was a big plus. The room was great, the service lovely, and the view amazing. We also enjoyed the restaurant menu and service, and breakfast was amazing.

The restaurant's four-course meal was a highlight. Every course, from appetizer to dessert, was well prepared and presented, and the wines we'd chosen paired nicely. We also liked the relaxed lobby and seating area for drinks or a visit. The hotel has amazing views of the castle, river, and valley, and our room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and gave excellent service. There was ample easy parking along the street out front. We'd recommend staying here and would choose it again if we return.

We spent two nights here looking over Bouillon and had a very comfortable room with great views. The lobby felt warm and lovely, especially when it was raining on our second day. The restaurant was very good too.
