Best Western Hotel Royal Centre

The location worked well for me, within easy walking distance of both the city centre and the EU centre. My room was quiet, and I slept wonderfully. I could hear the metro and sirens, but they died down later in the evening; the only other guest noise I noticed was my next-door neighbours opening and closing things. Service was very good. When the air con leaked, they upgraded my room straight away. The water pressure in the shower was great, though in a room with a bath, water gets on the floor whichever way you point the shower head, so you'll need to mop up. Each room has a kettle with teabags and instant coffee. The hand soap dried my hands out badly, and the shower shampoo is the same product, so bring your own.

The Wi-Fi was the biggest frustration: it was patchy and hard to connect to. If I were working remotely, that would be a serious problem, though I managed while on vacation. The rooms need updating, and the internet needs a stronger connection. I'd give the hotel 3.5 stars. Check-in was quick. My room had a comfortable queen bed and was spacious enough, with a TV, little table, desk, fridge, safe, and closet. The bathroom was clean and nice but short on counter space; I kept my things on the sink, which worked for me, though there wouldn't have been room for my wife too. The headboard padding was flaking, so I slept away from it, and the carpet was worn and stained.

The room was clean, worked well, and felt bigger than the average Brussels room. Getting around was easy too, with a metro stop nearby and a tram stop right in front of the hotel.

The staff were courteous and professional when I arrived, and the room was spotless, comfortable, and had the modern amenities I needed. After long days exploring, I slept well in the comfortable bed. As someone who travels often, I was pleasantly surprised by how convenient the hotel's spot in the lively city centre was for attractions and public transport. It brings together a good location, comfort, cleanliness, and good service. I'd recommend it to other travelers looking for a pleasant city stay.
