Brussels Louise Studio

The bed was uncomfortable, the toilet kept running, and breakfast was below standard. The walls were so thin I could hear every time the next room's door closed, very loudly, almost like it was my own door. Not the nicest hotel stay I've had. Still, for one night it sort of did the job.

The room was spacious and clean, with housekeeping every day. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive, and reception was open around the clock. The location was good too, with easy access to public transport, shops, supermarkets and social activities.

Staff were so friendly and helpful, and it's a great location. I had a balcony overlooking the main street, with a beautiful view both day and night. Breakfast was lovely, though on the morning I stayed there weren't enough dishes on the counters and only paper cups were available. In the room, USB charging points would be useful. I know I could use a plug, but USB ports are convenient and cheap to add. Those are small, easily fixed things. Apart from them, I had a great stay and would definitely return and recommend it for a short visit.

This was my second stay at Hotel Louise, and what happened was absolutely unacceptable and deeply disturbing. I had booked three nights and was traveling alone. On the morning of day two, while I was in the shower, a staff member entered without knocking or announcing himself. I was exposed and terrified. As soon as he saw me, he ran out without a word or apology. It was shocking and invasive. I was badly shaken, packed my things and went straight to reception, expecting some concern or acknowledgment. Instead, nobody asked if I was okay or apologized. They treated it as if it didn't matter. They then told me to cancel through Booking to get a refund, and I followed their instructions. Later, I felt this may have been a way to avoid accountability. The owner seemed more concerned about preventing a negative review than addressing a serious breach of my privacy and safety. More than a month later, I still haven't received a refund for the final night I paid for but didn't stay. I had to pay for another hotel myself because I no longer felt safe there. This went far beyond poor service. It was a failure of basic guest safety, professionalism and integrity. I strongly urge anyone considering this hotel to think twice. No guest should have to go through this.
