Holiday Inn Brussels Schuman

The staff were the one good thing here. They were juggling reception, the bar, the restaurant and other jobs, and Dominic was especially hospitable. The room was lacking: no mattress cover, sheets poorly tucked in, and the LVP floor was cold. Our IHG status wasn’t recognized at all, while others seemed to get more amenities than we did.

There was construction around a roundabout about a block away, but it wasn’t loud. I’d allow extra time for walks in that direction. At Holiday Inn Schuman Brussels, the rooms were clean and comfortable, with high-quality bedding, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and catered to special diets, including gluten-free and vegan. There’s also a fridge and safe in the room. The central location is handy for government buildings, cafés, drugstores, grocery stores and the Metro. I’d definitely stay again.

We came back from dinner to find two strangers lying in our bed in the room, with our personal belongings still there. Despite repeated follow-ups, the hotel hasn’t responded to our requests to resolve what happened. A hotel should at least make sure your room is yours and strangers aren’t in your bed among your things.

We spent three days here and everything was perfect. The staff were all kind, friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit far from the city centre, but Schuman train station is very close, so getting to the centre wasn’t an issue for us. We’d definitely choose this place again if we return to Brussels.
