The rooms have decent space, and the separate ensuite toilet and shower room is a nice touch. The staff are lovely, helpful, and local, so they know what to suggest seeing and doing nearby. I'd rate the hotel's amenities a solid four stars. Then you eat at the restaurant and the rating jumps to five, or higher if possible. The food alone is worth five stars. The menu is short, with a three or four choice set menu and a small a la carte section, but everything is exceptional. The wine list could put many supposedly fancy hotels to shame. This place is a gem, please don't change it.

The restaurant food was incredibly tasty, and the atmosphere was lovely. The hotel is family-run by friendly owners. My room was clean and pleasant, with a magnificent view of the lake. Breakfast was decent too.

We came to the restaurant as three generations, including kids aged 7-11. The menu was simple and worked for everyone. The room felt a little formal for a family dinner, but the staff were very accommodating. And the food was truly excellent. I enjoy fancy meals too, but the burger here was superb by any standard, as was the exotic fruit salad and...

The breakfast was actually pretty reasonable, but the rest of the stay was poor. The rooms were old and tired, there was no air conditioning or in-room safe, and the hallway lights didn't work. The lift was broken, reception was usually empty, and there were no staff on site overnight. One staff member was Basil Fawltey levels of rude, while the others were only passably courteous. You can do better.

We spent one weekend night in August using a Bongo voucher. The rooms looked recently renovated and were nice, and the shower was good. The beds were comfortable, though the pillows were a bit lumpy. Staff were friendly, even though they only spoke French and German, and breakfast was good. The hotel is very close to the lake, with a small beach that costs 5 euros for all-day access. There are lots of parking spaces. The TV wouldn't read my USB, or the remote wouldn't let me select it.
