L'Aubier

It was easy to unwind here after a long day of walking, with a cozy little place to sit and read and a great breakfast to start the day. Our room had a stunning view, and I was thrilled to have a proper bath as well as a shower. The hostel draws lots of young backpackers, which was a nice change since you don't meet many while traveling. The peaceful, beautiful surroundings made the stay even better.

We had plenty to keep us busy here, from card games to volleyball and Boule. The hostel was clean, with a pleasant outdoor seating area for summer, and the breakfast was decent for a hostel, though nothing exceptional. Justin, the receptionist, welcomed us warmly, was extremely accommodating, and made us feel very comfortable. The service was amazing.

The peaceful, pretty area was lovely, and after a long day of walking this was a great place to relax. I liked the little sitting and reading nook, the nice breakfast, and the beautiful view from our room. We even had an actual BATH as well as a shower. It was nice to see so many younger backpackers here, since you don't come across many others on the road.

For just 11 EUR, dinner was a very good chili con carne, and beer at the bar was 2 EUR. The fresh breakfast the next morning included excellent bread from a local bakery, eggs, and more. The dorm was clean and comfortable, and the basic bathroom was also clean, with good hot showers. I arrived in the evening on a very last-minute booking, and Justin at reception gave me a warm welcome and made sure I was comfortable. He speaks French and good English. After checkout, I stayed a while to work on my laptop, and Justin offered me some coffee. They can tell you about the many nice walks around the area. My stay at Hostel of Champlon was surprisingly pleasant and very good value for money. Well done, Justin. It's people like you who make this concept work!
