We only spent one night at B & B Le Bonimenteur, and I wish we could have stayed longer. It felt warm, cozy, and homey. The room was spacious, the beds very comfortable, and breakfast set us up well for the journey ahead. I can’t remember the gentleman’s name, but he was great and really helpful. I’d recommend the place to anyone.

Michael was waiting at the station when I arrived late, after my train had sat outside the city for a while. He’d already been there and waited patiently in the rain. Earlier, I’d called to ask the easiest way from the station, and he offered to pick me up for a very modest 10 Euros. Much cheaper than a taxi, and buses with my luggage would have been a challenge. I was in Charleroi for just one night before an early airport flight, and staying here made more sense than getting up earlier to transfer from Antwerp. I’d recommend it for an early flight too. My only regret is not arriving in time to see the city. The big old house is beautifully decorated, and my Moroccan room was cozy and welcoming, with a very comfortable bed. There’s a great bar with a fabulous selection of local Belgian beers and their national favourites. I enjoyed a much-needed beer after dinner. Michael gave me a map and a list of nearby places to eat. The house is in old Charleroi, on the outskirts of the centre, on a main road with a few restaurants. That worked for me, though with more time I’d have gone back to the centre for more choices and scenery. I had a quick breakfast before my flight, then Michael drove me to the airport for another nominal fee, well worth it. I’d definitely stay again. The city sights are a short taxi or public transport ride away, or Michael may be able to give you a lift. Thanks for a great stay!

The best part was sitting with other guests who’d stayed before, chatting over a beer or glass of wine. Michael, the owner, aka magic Mike, gave us a friendly welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean and nice, and breakfast was good. We had a brilliant stay and would definitely come back.

I spent one night here and the hosts were wonderfully welcoming. The house is old and full of character, and my room was clean with everything I needed. It’s a quaint, relaxing place, especially if you like a more personal stay. I spent the evening in the garden having beer and a great conversation with the owner and son. In the morning there was a nice breakfast, then the owner drove me to the airport, about a 10 minute car journey. I’ll definitely return when I’m passing through Charleroi. One thing to know: almost none of the restaurants or shops around the B&B take card payments, so I’d withdraw some cash if you plan to stay within 1-2km.

We only stayed one night before a morning flight from Charleroi airport, and it was a really cosy place. The owners are dedicated, the hotel is amazing, and the spacious rooms have everything you need.
