Escapade Hotel

We had a really bad experience. We booked 2 rooms and asked for rooms that wouldn't get too hot since there's no air conditioning. They told us that wouldn't be a problem, but gave us two rooms on the 3d floor under the roof, one facing south. The hotel was full, so changing rooms wasn't possible, and it was 28° at night. The rooms were dirty too, with empty boxes and lots of stains on the walls. At 02.00 during the night, the owner made noise by one of the rooms, opening a door that needs a code, shutting it loudly, and walking quickly down the hallway. There are only 4 tiny parking spots, so don't count on finding one. You may have to park a long way away and carry your luggage a long distance.

Our August stay was made so much nicer by the whole team's kindness, generosity, and down-to-earth manner. The huge family room wasn't facing the main street, which was lucky, and it had all the casual comforts you need for a relaxing holiday. They also left bottled water every day and kindly kept the same breakfast table for us each morning. The restaurant food was tasty and simple. Parking nearby was easy, and the seashore is just one street away. It's well suited to families of all ages, with an elevator that fits a wheelchair, and language wasn't an issue with the owners. I recommend it, and we'll be back. A huge thanks again!

We had everything close at hand in the centre of De Haan, and the beach was just steps away. The staff were friendly, the updated room was clean, and breakfast was really tasty. There’s also a pleasant outdoor lounge area.

For the price, this was great value compared with other hotels nearby. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and breakfast had a strong selection. Apparently, a soft-boiled egg takes exactly 5 minutes and 15 seconds. The staff made check-in quick and welcoming, and both the beach and the park in central De Haan were about a two-minute walk away. The shower cubicle was tiny and the room doors were noisy, but those little issues barely detracted from a lovely stay.
