Strandhotel

We got there around 10 on a Saturday, but nothing to eat was available until noon. They could only serve drinks, and when we asked about food, we got a look as if we’d asked something ridiculous. I also asked for a cold matcha latte instead of a hot one. The woman seemed to think that was a stupid request too, then came back to say the kitchen didn’t want to make it. It really doesn’t feel like a place that wants customers. Someone with a more helpful attitude could open a tearoom next door and do well.

The room was decent, but it didn’t feel worth what I paid, and the breakfast products seemed cheap and not fresh despite there being some variety. I also found the charges confusing. The same room cost €170 on Friday and €140 on Saturday. After the stay, I was asked to pay the tourist tax separately, although the website said taxes and charges were included and the confirmation email didn’t mention an extra payment. At this price, I expected better quality and clearer terms. Check the conditions carefully before booking.

We were warm by the window, looking out at the beach and the entertaining sights despite the cold, windy weather. The mussels were delicious, and the food was solid and met expectations. Service was friendly and attentive, with the waiters quick to notice when we needed something.

Even though it was really busy, the young man serving us did a superb job and kept the service classy. Our meal was delicious too, and the white/blue steak was cooked just right.
