The building gave me pause as I walked up, and I wondered what I was getting into. Then I stepped into the main hall and all that quiet and calm just washed over me. The loft was such a cool, unexpected find, and I really enjoyed staying there. Nico and Leen are wonderful hosts. Stay long enough, like I did, and you can’t help becoming friends. Ask if you need anything and they’ll do their best to help.

Dendermonde is a lovely city and the people are friendly, but the loft is what makes this stay feel special. It has a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere that photos just don’t capture, and everything feels thoughtfully put together without being overdone. It’s a world away from a bare, cold room in a big hotel chain. If you want to surprise your partner, book a night or more. I’ll definitely be back.
