The setting is peaceful and the location is handy, just off the Brussels ring road. Parking is easy and free, and the bedding is really high quality. Breakfast is simple but satisfying. The owner is friendly, attentive to requests, and good at finding solutions. It could use a little more cleaning, though nothing major. With the value for money, I’d still say go for it.

Right next to a riding stable, the accommodation is nicely furnished, and it must have been a lovely place once. These days, though, it’s hard to recommend. The rooms and bathroom are filthy, and cleaning seems sporadic, if it happens at all. The linens are clean, but sometimes have pet hair, which is unpleasant. The manager is friendly and accommodating, but that’s about the only positive apart from the fresh pastries and rolls at breakfast. The breakfast room could be cozy, but it isn’t, and it also needs proper cleaning. The cups don’t match, the window decorations are dirty, and so is the coffee machine. Cheese and sausage are served from discount-store blister packs, apparently reused each day. Also, the indoor pool listed in the descriptions has been drained and is no longer in use.

The setting is pleasant and the welcome was really warm, but the photos don’t match what it’s like. Cleanliness and hygiene in the room, toilet, bed linen, and towels were barely acceptable. Breakfast was so-so, and the pool and jacuzzi were dirty and out of order. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The owner was very friendly and speaks excellent Italian, having worked in Monza for seven years. Breakfast was generous and plentiful, and the rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished, though most of the furniture is from Ikea. It’s a rustic place in the countryside near Anderlecht, quite far from the villages, so you’ll need a car to go out for dinner.
