Our 2017 stay seemed fine until checkout. We had cleaned thoroughly, but afterwards were told the deposit wouldn’t be returned because the place was supposedly untidy. One complaint was that saucepans weren’t in the right cupboard. I’ve never come across such dishonesty. Avoid at all costs.

The host was extremely helpful, and the location beside the river and mountain is beautiful.

There’s plenty to do within 15 minutes, which worked well with the children, and the pool table and darts in the outside-access communal area kept teenagers and parents entertained. The pool table is rather worn and could use a repair. Parking is available on the street or at the back, though the rear driveway is very narrow. The owners are easy to reach if you need help, and they even decorated for Christmas. Cooking supplies are all there. There’s no central heating, just a gas stove; upstairs where you sleep stays warm, but the downstairs can be harder to heat in winter. A blanket helps quickly. We opened the windows in the evenings to air things out. The decor has a schoolroom feel, and we enjoyed the chalkboard. We had a wonderful holiday here, and would definitely recommend it.
