Le gîte Martin

You can really unwind in the beautiful surroundings here, and the gîte is near sights and several cities. It’s clean, tidy and has everything you need. Wonderful place for anyone who enjoys peace and atmosphere, I’d recommend it.

The cabin is private, which gives it a pleasant feeling of seclusion. It’s well equipped, comfortably furnished, and has plenty of crockery. The dishwasher is a worthwhile addition. The owners were also helpful and accommodating. There were, however, some interruptions to the peace and quiet: the cabin lies under the flight path of the Belgian Air Force base in Florennes, about 25 km to the west. For several days we heard low-flying jets, at times late into the night, and the thin wooden walls did little to muffle the noise.

Surrounded by trees and nature, the cottage feels like a real haven of peace, yet it’s well located near the town center. We appreciated the warm welcome, and the place is equipped with everything. I couldn’t find a single fault and highly recommend it to anyone looking for tranquility close to town.

There’s plenty to do around Dinant, from nature walks and fishing to exploring town. Our hosts were attentive and knew the area really well. The chalet itself felt like a cozy perch among the trees, a lovely place to recharge. And try La Leffe, the local beer!
