I wouldn't recommend this place, especially to women travelling alone. I booked five nights in July 2023 through Booking.com, but couldn't reach anyone by email or phone when I tried to change my arrival time. Check-in was somewhere separate from the hostel, and nobody was there when I arrived. When I went to the hostel to sort it out, three middle-aged men seemed to have forgotten my booking. They stared at me in a way that gave me a terrible feeling, and I was frightened. They spoke only French, not English. I would have rather slept in the woods. The place was filthy, and the dorm is separated from the living room only by a partly transparent curtain. The location is inconvenient too, with buses not running very late in the evening.

For a short weekend, the basic setup was enough for me: there’s a kitchen area and a fridge, though no breakfast. I stayed in March this year, and it’s a very small hostel, I think with one dorm and two private rooms. The host was friendly. Just be aware there are no lockers.

The hotel was clean, and the host was friendly and helpful. Getting to Dinant takes more than a walk, though, and the key collection details weren’t clear before we arrived. That led to a 20-minute detour.
