For an area that feels a little isolated, Gare55 has been a great place to stay on my two fairly random business trips. After my first visit, I was hoping work would bring me back just so I could stay there again. The renovated old station has modern, thoughtfully built rooms, and it’s unusual to step straight from your room onto what used to be the train platform. Everything looked and smelled clean, and the rooms are well equipped. The door code is convenient, and breakfast in the morning is nice. I’d happily stay again if another trip comes up.

This quiet little village is a convenient base for visiting Gand, Antwerp and Bruges /sea. The old station has been renovated beautifully, with a modern, industrial and technical feel, while also being eco-friendly. There’s a large, practical and cosy shared kitchen and living room, as well as a kitchenette in the room. The building smells delicious.

A cosy, unusual place, and Nathalie and Stephan are lovely. The experience was super nice, though breakfast costs far too much for the small portions. If you want salmon, make sure you’re first!

Such a lovely place to stay. The rooms are just right, and having access to the kitchen means you can cook a meal, which is a real plus.

Everything in the room feels new, and it was very clean. The place is in a quiet spot, with easy check-in using a door code, so there’s no hassle with keys or cards. I left early and didn’t have time for breakfast, but the coffee was really good, so I imagine the food is tasty too. I’ll definitely come back if I need somewhere near Gent.
