Golf & Hôtel de Falnuée

I’m a member and have always liked this place. The owners are down to earth, not arrogant. A few members can be arrogant, which takes away a little from the beautiful setting at Falnuee, a very old Abbey, but they’re in the minority.

There are some lovely wooded holes here, especially the challenging par 3 13th. The course also has open holes across the countryside, where plenty of newly planted trees still need time to grow. Falnuee Golf Club is peaceful, undulating, and well maintained. Once a year, it hosts the Club Champion of Champions tournament, also known as the Belgian Masters, where Belgium’s best club golfers put their skills to the test.

So glad to be back.

I had a meeting scheduled at the golf course, but they wouldn’t let me in because I had my dog with me. I was surprised, since I’d been there before with the dog and had been allowed in. I can’t find any mention of a no dogs rule, either on the entrance door or on the website. I don’t think this place is worth visiting. People who don’t like animals don’t deserve my patronage or a good rating. They say people who don’t like animals don’t like people, either. I won’t set foot here again.
