Hotel 't Hert

This place is far too noisy for a night off. You can hear people talking throughout the hotel, and there's a dog barking most of the time. The woman who welcomed us gave us a dusty room with dirty sinks and taps. The bathtub was dirty too, with pubic hair in it. We left feeling awful. This isn't a hotel where you can relax.

The room was unbearably hot because the radiator knob was broken, even with the window open. The bedding was dirty, including a pillow with a stain that looked like blood, and the toilet was clogged and wouldn't flush. At checkout, the woman was extremely rude. Finding street parking was a nightmare: there was nothing nearby, so we parked far away and walked, and it wasn't free beyond the first hour. The view from our window was of horrible graffiti, which made us feel very unwelcome.

We stayed in early April 2024. The room was decent, with a basic toilet, and everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast was nice, with eggs, cereal, and pastries. Dinner at the first-floor restaurant was superb. There isn't an elevator.

A really good place to stay in Genk, with a great location and a wonderful woman taking care of everything. She was so helpful, and breakfast was excellent. I've paid much more at other hotels and never had such a complete breakfast. The only downside, which would have bothered me if I hadn't been alone, was that the toilet was separated by a curtain. It wasn't see-through, but still. Otherwise, a great stay.
