BE GNT Oude 1A in Gent

Breakfast was lovely, the staff were exceptionally friendly, and the building itself is beautiful. The location was fabulous, just a short walk from the gorgeous inner city. We stayed in the top floor suite, so there were plenty of stairs to climb, but I got a good workout! I’d highly recommend staying here.

I spent a few weeks in the top junior suite and had a wonderful time in Ghent. The house is fabulous, though climbing all those stairs is a workout. The location was perfect, and the room was comfortable, with friendly and helpful hosts. I didn’t try breakfast, so can’t comment on it. There are two electric cooking hobs and a fridge, and I made my own meals about half the time.

The room was cleaned just once during our four day stay, and the service was awful. They provided only one tiny shower gel for two people, and the breakfast was very poor. The hostess was rude and not helpful at all. It was too expensive for what was offered. They also charged the card we’d used for the deposit without asking. I absolutely don’t recommend it.

The rooms are well appointed and the details have clearly been considered. The building’s architecture is impressive inside and out. There are a lot of stairs, especially up to the top of this striking townhouse, so be prepared for the climb.
