B&B Emmylou

The loft was more like a full apartment than we expected, and there was a shared lounge downstairs with a fireplace and a playroom for children. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit, omelets, and bakery rolls and croissants. We were welcomed so warmly and had a lovely day and night. We’d happily come back.

We had a fresh, generous breakfast, and the hosts, Kim and Ian, were easy to reach whenever a question came up. Our dogs were welcome too, and we could let them enjoy the garden on a leash or use the off-leash area. Our double room had space for luggage and a dog crate, plus a seating area, coffee maker, kettle, fridge and smart TV for Netflix and similar services. The bathroom was roomy, with a shower, sink, toilet and hairdryer. There’s also a shared toilet downstairs if you prefer one separate from the bathroom. Downstairs, guests have a spacious dining and living area with a TV, a children’s play corner and a cupboard full of games. There’s a small shop with local beer, soft drinks, ice cream, chips and other snacks, as well as a microwave. The B&B is in a very quiet spot, and we’d be glad to stay again.

The garden is spacious, with animals at the back, and the rural setting feels far removed from the usual rush. We felt very welcome here, and families with children would be well suited to the place. We stayed two nights in a double room. The friendly couple have two lovely young children, and each morning we had a hearty breakfast with different egg dishes, such as fried eggs with bacon and farmer’s omelet. The fridge had local beer, wine and soft drinks at fair prices. A very pleasant B&B, with congratulations to Kim and Ian.

Everything was very clean, and the room had its own fridge with complimentary tea and coffee. There’s a roomy shared lounge and breakfast space, separated from the private rooms, plus drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, and breakfast was generous and tasty. It’s a quiet area with a large garden and a lovely region to explore. Dogs have a fenced meadow, with waste bags and a bin provided, and the double room has enough space for a dog.
